1 HD Clip Opens it's Mouth

I went out and shot this for a project I was putting together for someone.  Why is it that i always have to challenge myself with water?  I really learned a lot when playing with three different moving planes (Clouds, Lake and River) during an HDR time lapse shoot.  I also love the detail that I was able to bring out in the sand.

You will also see in the download links below that I have made available a PhotoJpeg (.mov) file as well as the standard H.264 (.mp4) file.  Time permitting, I will try to make both available.  Mac users should have a much easier time with the PhotoJpeg format.

1 Clip is Just a Phase

I had my first chance to get another time lapse of the moon.  My first one I did was with a 200mm Canon EOS lens I had borrowed from a friend.  This one I did with my old Tokina Minolta mount 200mm lens, and the MD to EOS adapter.

If you compare the two, you can see how much I have learned over the past few months.  Here's to better quality videos for everyone!!!  You will also notice I am testing my ability to upload different file formats to Archive.org.  You have a selection below between H.264, Quicktime PhotoJPEG or Avid DNXHD (almost 1GB in size!)

1 Clip is Watching the Tide Roll Away

I found this dock and a few next to it on a walk to other day.  I love at how rusty the rails are and the clouds were just perfect.

I did this HDR shot a little differen by processing the images twice.  The second pass with the original files, I offset the whole series by 1.  This gave me twice as many frames to work with.  I will try to detail this process in another post, but it has gotten me excited about doing more.

1 Clip is Heading for Home

There were some amazing storm clouds moving through the sky the other day, and I managed to catch this great HDR time lapse over our local baseball field.  This is Frontier Field, and it is the home of the Rochester Red Wings, farm team to the Minnesota Twins.  I love the way the color temperature changes as the sun sets. Again, I understand that this clip may be a little too specific for some, but I thought ... If I shoot it, I should post it.  No sense holding anything back right?

1 Clip is Working for a Living

Did an Industrial Night HDR (High Dynamic Range) Time Lapse shot the other day. What I love is I mistakenly balanced a night shot with daylight settings and got the orange tungsten glow you see here.  It made the smoke look like the building was on fire.  Neat litte look ... unintentionally.

1 Clip Likes to Dish

Did this HDR Timelapse the other day.  Love the way I was able to catch the exposure under the dish while the sun was setting behind it.  One of the great benefits to HDR Photography.

1 Clip has a Milky Way

This was my first time doing a time lapse of the nighttime sky.  I was out of town in a remote area, and had a great chance to catch this.  Even though it turned out great, I also learned quite a bit that I will apply to more clips if I ever have the chance to again.  Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the 2 satellites that pass by in the clip.

1 Clip Dials it in

Saw this Sundial the other day and thought it would make a great time lapse.  I completely underestimated how slowly the sun moves vs. how often I took a picture.  I managed to fill up my card without the sun making much of a trip around the dial.  I plan on taking another one when I make my way out to this dial, but I only visit this area 1-2 a year.  Anyways, it is still a cool effect, and a great way to show passing time.

2 Clips are Falling

My apologies for not updating this site with as many clips as I have hoped to in the past 2 weeks.  I have a good amount in the pipeline.

These are 2 timelapse shots I did of a waterfall near where I live.  One is an HDR timelapse, and the other is a very long exposure time lapse. They remind me of those paintings with the light behind them that you normally see at chinese food restaurants.

3 Clips of the Beach to put us over Fifty!

These clips marks our 50th, 51st, and 52nd!  I am amazed at how quickly this got here.  I hope to make many more available over the next few months, and have some much needed site imrpovements to help you navigate all of the footage.  Anyways, I realized that I wasn't doing my namesake any good having no video of the beach, so here you go!

3 Completely Free Stock Footage Clips - 2 Halloween Clips and 1 Traffic Time Lapse

Wanted to get a few more Halloween themed clips up here before it gets too close to the holiday.  I am also including another traffic time-lapse I did, this one being a little more "trippy" than practical, as another thank you for all the traffic this blog has been getting lately.  We now average about 125 people a day coming through here.

Traffic, Traffic, Traffic

One of my first goals I set when creating this blog was visitor traffic that averaged around 50 people a day.  For the past 2 weeks, I am happy to say that the average has been closer to 75!  Now I know that many people coming haven't found any clips they need ... yet.  I am working on bringing a greater variety of clips to the public, so hopefully everyone will have something to take with them when they visit.

Until then, I'll give you a clip today as a thanks for the traffic.

Not so random footage: Clip 3

Okay Okay, maybe I should have done a block time-lapse post.  The weather has been great here lately, so I have been able to get some wonderful shots.  This one is of Kodak Tower in Rochester, NY.

Random Footage: Clip 2

This is another random clip. I know offering specific locations are tough for the normal stock video footage user. How many people are out there doing something about High Falls in Rochester, NY right?

But this is something I have been wanting to do for a while, and I had the perfect day the otherday. Enjoy this long exposure time lapse.
