1 Completely Free Stock Footage Clip Is Not Focused on Streaming

I was watching an outdoors program on television and was amazed at how often they cut to a shot like the one I have available below. Most of the time it was used when the show was thanking a sponsor, so they'd CG the logo in the center of the clip. Having a nice background like this could be helpful in your projects. Hopefully you'll find a good place for this footage in your own works. Hope it helps!

You are welcome to use this video in your projects you are working on, or keep it in your clip library for future work. The only thing you cannot do is turn around and offer it AS stock footage. Have fun with it!

2 Completely Free Stock Footage Clips for Every Fiber of Your Being

I've made 2 more clips using the optical fibers I had on hand.  The lamp passes a spectrum of color through the filament, so you get a pulsing wash of color.  If you are interested in a more sterile clip, I had success in first reducing the saturation completely, and then adding a light sterile blue hue to it.  The result is a pulsing "tech" blue light that you would normally attribute to something IT or computer related.

The first clip is a straight on shot from the side, of the filaments sticking out of the lamp.  This would work great as a background for text or during an open or credit roll.  The second is a shot from the top down, out of focus to enhance the bokeh.  This would be helpful as either a background or a slightly opaque overlay.

I am very interested to see what you can do with these.

I hope you enjoy these two clips. You are welcome to use them in your projects you are working on, or keep them in your clip library for future work. The only thing you cannot do is turn around and offer them AS stock footage. Have fun with them!

1 Completely Free Stock Footage Clip Needs Fiber

I found a fiber optic filament filament lamps at a thrift store and we have been using it as my daughter's night light.  I had originally bought it to get a few stock footage clips from it.  The one here will be the first of a few.  I want some others to be slightly more generic so people can use it in their projects about technology.  If you follow me regularly, you know that I love using negative space and I think for stock purposes it is very valuable.  Many times stock footage is very helpful as place-cards and/or backgrounds for more information.  I've kept the rainbow coloring, but you are obviously welcome to change it based on your needs.  I had luck making a default "fiber optic blue" by de-saturating the clip and then adding color back using a "hue" effect in premiere.

2 Free Stock Footage Clips Are Already Trimmed

I managed to grab these two clips while we had our Christmas tree up this season.  The hardest part of this shot was grouping a collection of generic ornaments in order to ensure all displaying rights are clear.  All of the ones here are hand made I believe.  I love the heart cinnamon ornament you see at the beginning, I've had it for a while and adds a great scent along with the pine.

A holiday post like this on December 27th isn't exactly that helpful initially though huh?  I could have sat on this a year until right before next year's Christmas season, but the beauty of stock footage is having footage that is out of season so you do not have to recreate it yourself.  That being said, I hope this comes in handy whenever you may need it.  Hope everyone is having a great holiday season, and a happy new year!!!

1 Free Stock Footage Clip Needs to Focus More

I've been hoping to post a few more abstract clips for people to use as backgrounds in their work.  The somewhat unique thing about this clip is that it is ACTUAL footage ... no After Effects here.  These are from 2 sets of outdoor string lights I bought on clearance from the hardware store bunched together.  The lights are supposed to mimic fireflies.  I put my camera lens a few inches away and set the focus to infinity.  The result is a beautiful, natural bokeh background. The color is true to what the light produced, but you are more than welcome to tint it in your NLE to match your project's asthetic.

4 Clips are as Busy as Bees

I would not suggest filming busy bees with a shallow depth of field for those of you who are not patient.  Because I was trying to capture them at 240fps I needed as much light as possible which meant I needed to keep the iris open, which also meant that I would be operating with a narrow focus distance.

These little guys were hard at work pollinating my raspberry bushes, which meant that they were happily distracted and not too interested in me.  Let me follow them around for a good amount of time, which is nice because I had to do an insane amount of takes just to have these 4 useable shots.

My motivation for capturing them was the recent news stories about the dwindling numbers of bees.  Hopefully people doing news stories about them will find them useful.

1 HD Clip Drips in the Dark

Not exactly sure how I was able to pull this clip off, but I love the way it looks.  It might be helpful for anyone looking for an atmospheric background.

As you may know, recently I am pushing the boundaries as far as how many media files I can associate with each clip through Archive.org.  You have the option of downloading a PhotoJPEG, H.264 or WMV file. I'd also like to go back and update all of the earlier clips and will do so eventually.  Doing so is a very big time commitment for me with the current processing power of my computer.

1 Clip Shows Your Form

I was playing around in After Effects the other day and came across it's ability to visualize audio in a waveform.  I grabbed a clip I had with some music in it, and I processed it through the program.  It's a great feature to use if anyone has AE available to them.  Otherwise, feel free to download and use mine instead.
