1 Free Stock Footage Clip Is Being Fast Tracked

I've actually had this clip in my library for a descent amount of time and forgot about it.  Sorry!

I had the opportunity to go to New York City for a production I was helping shoot, and captured this in some off time.  Unique to this, and missing from a lot of my other clips, ambient audio IS included. There was nothing recognizable, so I felt comfortable leaving it in.  It also helps in adding a little atmosphere.  The video and audio is loop-able, so it would be useful as a background and might even be applicable as a plate shot for you VFX people.  Hope you find it helpful!!!!

2 Free Stock Footage Clips for Your Morning Drive

I pass this area quite a bit when driving through the city, but never took the chance to stop. When  I had realized that I had recently uploaded my 200th video clip (YAY!!!!).  I wanted to celebrate that, as well as the growth in traffic, by posting more traffic.  I spend a nice morning hanging out on this overpass watching cars and school buses on their way in to work.  This footage was taken during the beginning of what is our morning rush hour.

1 Stock Footage Clip is Limited

This is a shot that I've been wanting to get for a while.  I love traffic time lapse shots.  I find them very useful when trying to tell a story.  They can be used to shot the passage of time or a change in location beautifully.  I also like how this shot has something stationary and prominent in the foreground, yet being a radar, still shows a lot of motion.

2 Clips Are Not Exactly Fast and Not Really Furious

I get excited every time I get another idea on what to shoot and offer.  I love using my Sigma lens because of it's macro ability and fast exposure.  Sure there are Canon lenses that have this similar ability, unfortunately I don't have those ...

These clips were shot after I added a clip category tab at the top of the page for "Buildings and Traffic".  I would like to start expanding on certain topics to give my users a variety of shots to choose from when editing their projects.  Many of you have sent me some really great stuff using the traffic time lapses, and I was trying to think of something that could be easily cut between those to better tell a story.

To get this shot, I was able wedge my camera in-between the dashboard and the steering wheel.  I have a flexible arm with a clamp that is actually holding the camera to the base of the steering column.  This allowed me to drive safely while shooting.  Because I didn't have access the perfectly level roads, our local expressway added a couple of bumps along the way.  I actually exaggerated the camera shake to give the clip a sense of speed and well as mask the unintentional hits to the shot.

I grabbed the extra seatbelt clip when I was getting out of my car... something I hope someone can use in something like a safe driving PSA.  It may cut nicely with the emergency response clips I have.

Anyways, as always, I hope these clips are helpful and add a little something to your editing toolbox.

You have the option of downloading a PhotoJPEG, H.264 or WMV file. I'd also like to go back and update all of the earlier clips and will do so eventually.  Doing so is a very big time commitment for me with the current processing power of my computer.

2 Clips are "WALKIN' HERE!!!"

Start spreading the news.....

I was fortunate enough to land myself in New York City a few months ago and managed to bring my camera along.  While performing other duties, I managed to grab a few time lapses that I hope would be helpful to some people.  The first one at dusk is in Manhattan while the second one during the day is across the river in Brooklyn.

As you may know, recently I am pushing the boundaries as far as how many media files I can associate with each clip through Archive.org.  You have the option of downloading a PhotoJPEG, H.264 or WMV file. I'd also like to go back and update all of the earlier clips and will do so eventually.  Doing so is a very big time commitment for me with the current processing power of my computer.

1 HD Clip Passes on the Left

I shot this on a whim the other day while driving down an access road near one of our busier expressways.  I am really happy with how it turned out, but it did take me a good amount of time to edit out the amazing amount of birds that flew through the shot.  Here is where I am very thankful for Photoshop's "content aware fill".  It made editing these frames very easy.

As you may know, recently I am pushing the boundaries as far as how many media files I can associate with each clip through Archive.org.  With this file you have the option of: 10-bit DNxHD (Avid and Premiere Users), PhotoJPEG (Final Cut and iMovie Users), H.264 (Native to DSLR Cameras) and WMV (Windows Movie Maker).  I'd also like to go back and update all of the earlier clips and will do so eventually.  Doing so is a very big time commitment for me with the current processing power of my computer.

1 Clip needs a Frog

This clip is just fun!  I can think of some fun uses for you, but ultimately it is up to you.  It reminded me of the old arcade game frogger.  Now I just need to find a highway next to a river that has plenty of logs floating down it.  Level 2 here I come! The best part is, this is loopable!

(I do want to note, the nat. sound is pretty bad with the wind, but I wanted to include it.  It is easier to take it out than it is to put something in.)

3 Completely Free Stock Footage Clips - 2 Halloween Clips and 1 Traffic Time Lapse

Wanted to get a few more Halloween themed clips up here before it gets too close to the holiday.  I am also including another traffic time-lapse I did, this one being a little more "trippy" than practical, as another thank you for all the traffic this blog has been getting lately.  We now average about 125 people a day coming through here.

Traffic, Traffic, Traffic

One of my first goals I set when creating this blog was visitor traffic that averaged around 50 people a day.  For the past 2 weeks, I am happy to say that the average has been closer to 75!  Now I know that many people coming haven't found any clips they need ... yet.  I am working on bringing a greater variety of clips to the public, so hopefully everyone will have something to take with them when they visit.

Until then, I'll give you a clip today as a thanks for the traffic.
