1 Free Stock Footage Clip Skips a Bit

This was another clip I grabbed during my quiet morning on the shores of Lake Ontario.  Because of the same condition, this might match up well with my previous clip "1 Free Stock Footage Clip Shore is Pretty" which was shot on the same day at the same time.  I had the camera very low and wide for this shot.  I tried as hard as I could to place the initial skip very close to the lens (It couldn't have been more than 2 feet away).  That mixed with the slow motion, makes the skipping stone appear very large compared to what you might normally expect in a shot like this.  The stone I threw was honestly about 2-2 1/2 inches round.  I like the minimalist quality that this clip has, as well as the disruption that is created in the water from the stone.  Hope you can find a use for it somewhere!

1 Free Stock Footage Comes Again Another Day

I managed to make the best of a rainy morning the other day.  Thanks to a overhang off of my house, I was able to get the camera down to a patch of dry ground to catch this low profile shot.  Having the shallow depth of field helped isolate/highlight a strip of walkway.  To me, watching the droplets this slow, almost makes the rain enjoyable.  Perfectly paired with a morning cup of coffee.

1 Free Stock Footage Clip Shore is Pretty

This clip was actually a random tack on to a much larger outing I had.  It is a very macro, super slow motion look at the shoreline of Lake Ontario.  The lake was very calm that day, but the slow motion still captures the powerful movement water is capable of.  I think this is what I love most about shooting macro AND slow motion with the Sony FS700, I get to experience the amazing strength, range and movement of some of the smallest things.  I hope to get a much more capable (telephoto) lens some time soon, to do more of this with.

3 Stock Footage Clips Break and Crash

Had a great time out by the edge of Lake Ontairo during an especially brutal storm was passing over.  The waves were quite impressive as they hit the pier.  I also got to test the durability of my FS700 when an extremely large wave hit the stone wall and covered me and my equipment.

Once again I've included some different shots to hopefully help in editing.

3 Clips are Rapid

I've had these clips for a while and was struggling with releasing them.  It wasn't because I felt they were technically unworthy, but I've realized I won't be able to post 100% unique clips each time around.  It would be more beneficial to the community, to offer up a variety of clips for each visual situation.  In other words, I really need to get over myself and think about what you guys might need that would help you tell your stories.  It's a constant learning process, and I value your input greatly.

These were sitting on my drive ever since I released these waterfall clips. I had gone out that day with a specific purpose to capture long exposure shots, but since I was out I also grabbed some real time footage.   The first waterfall clip below is pretty close to a real time shot of the second long exposure waterfall clip I had previously released.  Hope you like them and I hope they are useful someday!

3 Clips are Set to Wave

I managed to get away the other day and head on up to Lake Ontario when I noticed an especially interesting sunset.  I managed to get these few shots while I was there.  I would like to try to start releasing clips in packages which will hopefully help all of you when editing the stories you hope to tell.

1 HD Clip Drips in the Dark

Not exactly sure how I was able to pull this clip off, but I love the way it looks.  It might be helpful for anyone looking for an atmospheric background.

As you may know, recently I am pushing the boundaries as far as how many media files I can associate with each clip through Archive.org.  You have the option of downloading a PhotoJPEG, H.264 or WMV file. I'd also like to go back and update all of the earlier clips and will do so eventually.  Doing so is a very big time commitment for me with the current processing power of my computer.

1 HD Clip Opens it's Mouth

I went out and shot this for a project I was putting together for someone.  Why is it that i always have to challenge myself with water?  I really learned a lot when playing with three different moving planes (Clouds, Lake and River) during an HDR time lapse shoot.  I also love the detail that I was able to bring out in the sand.

You will also see in the download links below that I have made available a PhotoJpeg (.mov) file as well as the standard H.264 (.mp4) file.  Time permitting, I will try to make both available.  Mac users should have a much easier time with the PhotoJpeg format.

1 Clip Wipes

Took advantage of one of the "mild" days this winter and was able to record some of my drive in to work.  A bonus with this clip that you sometimes don't get is the nat. sound.  Be sure to keep your speakers on when previewing.

2 Clips are Falling

My apologies for not updating this site with as many clips as I have hoped to in the past 2 weeks.  I have a good amount in the pipeline.

These are 2 timelapse shots I did of a waterfall near where I live.  One is an HDR timelapse, and the other is a very long exposure time lapse. They remind me of those paintings with the light behind them that you normally see at chinese food restaurants.

3 Free Stock Footage Clips Took a Hike

Went for a walk the other day while the weather was nice.  Found just a little bit of inspiration, and thought I would share.  The "hiking" clip is a great POV shot you can use to convey movement, traveling or disorientation.  The other 2 stream clips are a great way to show the passage of time, changing of seasons (stream=sprint, leaf=autumn).

You can preview and download the clips by clicking "read more" below. Enjoy and Happy Downloading!

7 Clips are a Little More Scenic

Hey everybody.

I'm getting closer to getting in a routine where I can update this blog at a steadier pace. My goal would be 4-5 clips per week.

Here is some footage I shot in the early morning at a body of water near where I live.  Enjoy!
